In 'A Business Affair' Jonathan plays Alec Bolton, a struggling writer, married to a French model, played by Carole Bouquet.

However,she also dreams of becoming a writer, and when a Alec's new publisher shows an interest in her and her work, it leads to the end of the marriage but not without pain, regret and loss.

'Brazil' became a cult film and was probably the one that people most remember Jonathan in.

Its a futuristic comedy/drama about a clerk Sam Lowry, played by Jonathan, who has recurring dreams of a girl and through his job in 'information retrieval' is able to track her down. His job and his Mother, cause him problems in equal measure.

'Evita' is a totally 'sung through' epic, which tells the  true story of the legendary Eva Peron,who came from a poor background in Argentina to become the Presidents wife, but also a famous figure in her own right.

Jonathan plays President Juan Peron, opposite Madonna's Eva and in this film he also shows what an amazing singer he is.

Jonathan plays 'Governer Swann' in this blockbuster film of Summer 2003 - 'Pirates of the Carribean', a film based on a funfair ride at Disneyworld.

'Ronin' had a truly international cast and high-speed car chases.

Jonathan played Seamus,  in charge of a gang of men hired to retrieve a suitcase, but none of them ever knew what was in it !

Sadly, 'Unconditional love' was never shown in England.

Its the story of a woman's obsession with a singer called Victor Fox (played by Jonathan) and her quest to find his killer.

Jonathan plays Jack Pugh, widowed Father of Annie Mary,  the girl who is longing to break free of her Fathers strict upbringing in a village in Wales.

Many years before she had won a singing competition and it is only when her dying friend Bethan persuades her to use her voice ,that she breaks free to sing again and to start her new life.

In 'Carrington'Jonathan plays gay writer Lytton Strachey, who has a strange but lasting relationship with artist Dora Carrington (played by Emma Thompson).

However,because the relationship is not a normal one, Dora becomes discontented and lonely and Lytton allows her to have lovers (even falling in love with one of them himself), A true story of love , longing and loss.

The usual James Bond format, with Jonathan as Elliot Carver, who uses the power of television in order to achieve world domination.

However,as in all 007 films, he is outwitted by Bond in the end.
